Baseball Concepts is based in Zeeland, Michigan in the heart of West Michigan and was founded on the principles of faith, character, and confidence nearly 10 years ago. Recently purchased by current assistant Hope College Coach, Baseball Concepts is keeping its promise to maintain these principles and continues to build on the firm foundation that has been set. The coaching staff believes wholeheartedly that we’ve been given a unique platform to make a real difference in the lives of today’s youth and it is something we do not take for granted.
We’ve cultivated an environment of competitiveness and encouragement. Instead of focusing on wins and losses, we believe that competitiveness in players should be channeled into being the best version of themselves. Every time a player comes into our facility, they should be prepared to experience growth both on the field and off.
As a coaching staff, we are one big team and we push one another to grow within the game and within our daily lives. We have educated conversations on high level baseball IQ and are always searching for new and inventive ways to convey mechanical and conceptual drills to our players. We understand life is learning and we continue to learn every day from the best in baseball and one another.
Baseball Concepts has a unique stance in the community to give back in ways that most organizations can’t. We know we can be a staple in the community for athletics and a positive outlet in West Michigan and have been working with the Boys and Girls Club giving back to underprivileged kids teaching them the game. We are committed to making our community a better place through America’s Past Time.
As the Owner of Baseball Concepts, Devin will be working with our hitters, pitchers, catchers, and fielders as well as managing day to day operations. His 15 years of experience behind the dish (coached by a former member of the Houston Astros pitching staff alongside Nolan Ryan) allows him to provide great pitching instruction too. Devin has received several MIAA awards and accolades in his career, including 1st Team MIAA All-Conference member. Devin has a ton of experience working with youth players and is great at relating with kids!
